SHE'S NOT CRYING,

SHE'S SINGING

A FEATURE BY PHILIPPE DE PIERPONT - 2011

SYNOPSIS

The film, based on the novel of Amélie Sarn, is a tale of deliverance.

Laura, 27 years old, lives alone in the outskirts of a large European town. She learns that her father is in a coma, after a serious car accident. She decides to visit him at the hospital as a last opportunity to settle old scores, perhaps even to get revenge... Laura ends up visiting her unconscious father regularly . She sits next to him and tells him  the horror of her childhood when she was abused by him. However, life is unpredictable, and Laura's desire to deal with him, brings up painful memories. To free herself from the pain and the scars she has been carrying for so long, she will have to face her past. Laura will ends up reconciled. Not with her father, but with her childhood, with herself and with life.
